Our faster, smarter, better Address & Postcode Finder

Update Tuesday 3pm: The dates in the blog entry below have been amended to reflect a change in our release schedule.  The Beta version update will now be released on Thursday 31 May.

It’s almost here.  The updated Beta version of our Address & Postcode Finder (APF) is going to be released in two weeks time, on Thursday 31 May.  With enhancements and new features based on feedback from our customers, this version will become the official APF at the beginning of next month.

Why are we doing this?
The Beta version of the APF was launched in January 2012.  The old APF is still the primary link on our website. After receiving lots of good feedback and making further enhancements to the tool, we think it’s time to make the improved Beta version our official APF.

What is different about the Beta version?
The street address, PO Box/Private Bag and postcode forms with multiple fields became a single form with a search field in it.

What’s changing in our next release?
We sorted through all the ideas and suggestions and have made these changes:

  • you will be able to search with part of an address and the autocomplete will help with suggestions
  • you will be able to see if  an address is deliverable and if not, why not
  • you can share the address you find with others
  • you will see when an address is rural

When is it happening?
All going to plan we will be launching the updated Beta version on Thursday 31 May.  A week later we are going to turn the Beta version into the new APF.  Our old APF will remain on the website and we’ll be asking for feedback from those who continue to use it.
